History

Joey was born during the Summer of 1977 in Long Beach, California. He grew up in the suburbs of Cerritos, CA during the early 1980s, where he was introduced to music study and computers at an early age. In 1987, he moved to San Juan Capistrano, CA and lived there throughout high school, college, and the beginning of his career as a web developer. In 1991, he began exercising his side profession as a musician playing piano and keyboard for worship services. After graduating high school, he began piano accompaniment for local community theater while studying for a degree in music.

Shortly after retiring from musical theatre in 2002, he landed his first full-time job at an advertising agency, expanding on his web development skills. In 2005, he began traveling and making annual roadtrips to various regions in the USA, and has visited all 50 states. In 2010, he bought a townhome in Tustin, CA where he continues to reside. In 2020, he expanded investments to real estate in southern Arizona, where he plans to eventually spend retirement years.

Career

Primary Occupation: Senior Web Developer at advertising agency Minds + Assembly (an acquisitor of Awaken Interactive). Primary duties consist of front-end development using HTML5/CSS3/Javascript. Previous duties from prior employment involve database integration via SQL Server, back-end functionality using .NET C#/Razor language, managing hundreds of domain URLs, server IT assistance and desktop support.

Freelance: Owner of Kinless Enterprises, comprised of four service divisions: Half-Note Transcriptions (c. 1997) is transcribing, transposing, sequencing, and arranging music, as well as piano performances for events and special occasions. Polar Horizons (c. 2001) tailors to web design and development of small web sites for businesses or individuals. Hybrid Solutions (c. 2003) involves technical support and repair/troubleshooting for computers and mobile devices of all platforms. Focal Conceptions (c. 2009) consists of photography for individual/group shoots, landscapes, products, macro and lifestyle.

Education

Graduated from Capistrano Valley High School, Mission Viejo, CA in June 1995. Graduated with High Honors (3.8 GPA) for an Associate's Degree in Music in May 1998 from Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo, CA. Plans to acquire a Bachelor's degree have been shelved indefinitely, due to a busy career path and personal/family responsibilities.
