Promotions are kinda cool

Promotions are kinda cool

Yikes! I thought I would be in the clear after the end of January. But it only got worse in terms of work. We are working on a very important educational game for diabetes patients, and that has launched me into the hell-raising task of being in charge of the Quality Assurance (a.k.a. bug testing). But it's coming along nicely, and will be done this month. But some REALLY good news to share: the beginning of February, after 8½ months at my job, my supervisor told me effective immediately that I was given a $5,000 raise, which puts me at the nice round number of a $30,000/year salary. I was very excited, not only because of the extra cash, but because it came much sooner than I ever thought it would. So that puts me in a real nice position. I'm on track to have almost $20,000 saved up by the end of the year.

I thought my car was on its last leg, but no, all it needed was a new EGR valve and thermostat, and it is back in good shape. Whew! No costly repairs this time. I've still got 21 months left until I buy my 2005 Saturn, whatever model looks good that year. :) As long as it's a V6! In the meantime, I went and bought a new musical toy for my studio. Oh wow, can you say GROOOOOVE???? This machine simply rocks. Yeah, it set me back a little bit, but I saved $300 off retail/tax so I'm not complaining too much.

Still continuing to renovate the site as time marches along. I kinda hit a lull in the middle of the month, but I'm aiming to get back on track eventually, when all the hullabaloo dies down at work. I may put it on the back-burner, due to other PAYING website jobs, so don't get mad if that happens! :) See ya in Spring 2003!
