Learning a New Language

by Joey Kincer

Happy NET Year! No folks, that's not a typo. Kinless.com now functions under Microsoft's latest shizzle, called .NET ("dot-net" if you actually say it out loud, not like you would have any desire for such a thing).

Anything exciting? Somewhat, yeah. Work was particularly good to me, as I (and probably everyone else) received a hefty bonus for our exemplary work throughout 2005. I bet Uncle Sam was probably happier about it than I was, it's still enough that I could have indulged in quite a few things and still have some cash leftover.

But my discipline is getting the best of me. All of it is getting socked away in the house fund. That's right, ladies and gentleman. I have a house fund, sitting at $43,000 strong. Too bad I don't live in the middle of nowhere, however. Orange County, California isn't being kind with house prices for the time being. Patience is the key though, and should pay off soon.

More on the working front: I've also been volunteered to be Sound Engineer for Podcasting, which is a field we're diving into for 2006. This may require traveling to various cities throughout the U.S., which of course I naturally became excited about. I got a taste with the roadtrip, and maybe I'll be able to expand on certain points of interest.

Speaking of traveling, my new goal this year is to visit Alaska and Hawaii, back-to-back, for Summer 2006. After that I'll be able to claim I have been in all 50 states. Woohoo for me.

As the year progresses, you'll hear hopefully more interesting tidbits about the life of Joey. Maybe. If you're good.
