Too Many Goodbyes
by
April was quite a month. Unfortunately not one of the good kinds. A lot of little transitions and unexpected events were going on, which made it seem like the world was falling apart around me. Don't you love that feeling?
We had some turnover where I work, some of it resignation, some of it, ummm... not. Either way it makes my paranoia go through the roof, but I believe all is calm again. We decrease our workforce back down into the mid 60s (from 70).
Goodbyes were prominent, but not only at work. I had a close friend move away to Idaho, which was not an easy thing for me. But the real kicker was the unexpected passing of someone I knew pretty well, who died at age 40 from bacterial infection. I was honored to play piano at her memorial service. Stuff like that puts things in perspective I tell you.
Add that to all the other woes going on in the world, and there you have one big mess. I'm just glad April is gone! I hope this month is much better.
The earliest thing I can think of looking forward to is the Alaska trip I'll be taking in July. (I nixed Hawaii because it's a little too expensive for me to do both right now.) I still have to book tickets and do some more planning before I commit. Here I go...
See you again soon.
