Adjustments Being Made
by
Whoops, I'm a few days late with the monthly update. Here we go.
My secondary job of church is over. As of September 30 I am (for the moment) back down to just one job, plus the extra freelancing of course, which is picking back up again for the season.
Technically I did take a bit of an income hit, but two other factors came into play which makes it easier to bear. For one, I finally paid off my 2005 Saturn last month, so now I'm debt-free in that arena, which means an extra $500 that gets to stay with me.
Second, because of a department restructure at my primary job, I have been promoted to a newly-created "Senior Web Developer" position, along with a 5% increase in salary. I'll have a little more responsibility when we get new hires, but in the meantime it works out great for a little extra help.
As far as the quarterly finances, I have $73K socked away for the house, and I'm finally FINALLY starting to notice the drop in house prices around these parts. Still no where close to getting what I want, but we're heading in the right direction.
Fall is in, and the days once again get short. I better go bust out that space heater from the garage. Bye bye.
