Health Comes First

by Joey Kincer

The extended month of February had a lot of curve balls thrown at me as I tried to wrap up my huge migration project on the new computer.

My dad was mysteriously getting sick and we couldn't figure out what it was, until we finally made him go to the doctor. Come to find out he had gallstones and had to have his gall bladder removed. That was a 4-day hospital stay, and a pretty big ordeal to us since he's never been in the hospital a day in his life. Kinda scary but surgery was successful and he's out and about again.

Mom's finally ditching her antique business this year, so all of her inventory has got to go. Unfortunately she's got a whole crapload of it and it's not exactly easy to get rid of. It'll probably take the rest of this year to clear it all out.

And then I decided to get my own special little cold, which put me out for a good weekend, and I'm still feeling the effects with this cough of mine. So annoying...

The computer migration is 95% done, as all my files have been consolidated. I do have a few laggard things to organize but it's mostly unimportant stuff. I also have a remainder of old backup CDs to go through, just to make sure I'm not missing anything. Most likely they're dupes of what I've already got, but I want to make doubly sure before I destroy everything.

Next month promises to have some action as I take a jaunt to Joshua Tree National Park, and then a 10-day vacation to Austin, TX to visit some friends, and hopefully take a quick trip up to Plano to see the relatives.

Plenty more after the monthly break...
