A New Direction

A New Direction

by Joey Kincer

Yes, I've been getting extremely lazy with my so-called monthly updates. Without an admin tool it's almost a pain to try and update something, and with no timetable on the new website, you may just as well see more sporadic updates from me.

Probably the biggest news is that I have quit my job of 7½ years at Ignite Health, and started with a new agency called Awaken Interactive. It's the same line of work, except I'm no longer under a corporate umbrella. With the new job comes great flexibility, working up to 4 days a week from home, a little bit of a raise, and of course having my new (old) peeps as a family once again.

I'm digging it so far, except I've been institutionalized so long with the old job that I get a case of "Cabin Fever" once in a while and my anxiety levels go up for absolutely no reason. While it's only happened a few times, I'll have to learn to take some kind of break and leave the house for a bit if it continues. But this is probably something I'll get used to, part of the new "freedom" if you will.

The house-hunting will probably resume sometime in the Spring after I have settled into the new job. Also on the list is a new lappy. My PowerBook G4 is approaching 6 years old and well past its useful life. I will delegate it to a roadtrip machine and buy a new MacBook Pro, which I currently await at the moment. Just waiting for Apple to release it already... (hurry up!!!)

Changes this year? You bet. I hope the new job isn't the only thing that changes. Finding a place of my own is pretty high on the priority list, and if the housing market continues in the direction I think it will, it should only be a matter of time. We'll see. Keep it right here. Hopefully I can get back on monthly updates again. You never know... bye now.
